Edward Framer, Ph.D., Director, Health and Behavioral Sciences
Ed brings expertise in behavioral medicine, health assessment, behavior analysis, preventive health services, organizational psychology, and health promotion/disease prevention interventions. A behavioral psychologist with a doctorate in clinical psychology from the University of North Texas, he has been involved in the development of health assessments for more than 25 years. He is currently a member of the Health Enhancement Research Organization (HERO) Think Tank and Research Committee and serves as the Measurements Standards Subcommittee chair. Prior to joining HealthFitness, he served as vice president of health sciences for HealthCalc Network, an industry-leading science-based firm which HealthFitness acquired in 2005. A past president of the Society of Prospective Medicine, Ed’s professional background also includes positions as the director of wellness and prevention for the Harris Methodist Health System in Fort Worth, Texas, and as the
southwest director of behavioral medicine for Health Management
Resources, a Boston-based company specializing in the treatment
of high-risk obesity.
Earl Thompson, MS, Director, Program Outcomes
Earl serves as director of outcomes reporting and has more than 21 years’ experience in the Blue Cross Blue Shield network holding positions in corporate and marketing research, and management over actuarial and information systems. He spent seven years at Harris Health Trends as an outcomes consultant for major corporations. He holds a master’s degree and has completed studies towards a doctorate in educational research and measurement from the University of Toledo.
Earl is a member of the Health Enhancement Research Organization (HERO) consortium for the advancement of the science of measurement in the wellness field. He also serves on a committee of the
Care Continuum Alliance Productivity and Health Management Evaluation
Methodology Committee. He has developed new methodologies for the assessment of health management program effects. He has presented his work for many large organizations including General Motors, Ford, Union Pacific Railroad, PepsiCo, Johnson & Johnson, Dell, State of Tennessee, Yankee Candle, Kellogg, Experian, and several of the Blue Cross Blue Shield plans.
Mark Mallon, Ph.D., Senior Informatics Analyst
Mark brings 19 years of research experience, and previously served as the director of research and analysis for the State Bar of Texas. His background also includes working as a business consultant with Bath Iron Works; a neuroscience technician with the Veterans’ Administration Hospital of Philadelphia; and a research/teaching assistant with the University of Texas. He holds a doctorate in behavioral health, a master’s degree in psychology and a bachelor’s degree in experimental psychology from the University of Texas. |
